International Conference on Civil Defence in Gabala, Azerbaijan, March 12-13, 2013

The International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) is pleased to announce the International Conference on ‘Civil Defence and preparation of civil societies for disaster risk prevention’ organized by the Ministry of EmergencySituations of the Republic of Azerbaijan in cooperation with the ICDO to be held in Gabala, Azerbaijan on March 12-13, 2013

The conference will focus on the following areas

Role of inter-agencies in the preparation of population in the field of civil defence and protection from disasters -

Preventing the impact of natural and man-made disasters, and risk management -

Providing life support for population and management of the international humanitarian aids during large-scale emergencies -

It is expected that 150 representatives dealing with disaster risk management from ICDO member countries, ICDO affiliated members, ICDO observer countries and experts from international organizations and neighbor countries will participate in the conference

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan is confident that this international conference will become an important annual gathering for organizations and experts responsible for the management, prevention, and elimination of consequences of emergency situations to enhance international cooperation and exchange their experience in making most appropriate decisions during disasters
