ICDO Secretary-General in Thailand

From 19 to 22 February 2017, a delegation of the ICDO, headed by the Secretary-General, Dr. Vladimir Kuvshinov, paid a visit to the Kingdom of Thailand.

During the visit, the ICDO Secretary-General had bilateral meetings with representatives of Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation of Ministry of Interior, fire and rescue department of Bangkok and Executive Director of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (the ADPC)  Mr. Hans Guttman.

The discussions were focused on exploring the different ways and mechanisms for establishing cooperation between the ICDO, international institutions and national structures in the field of civil defence and protection of population from natural and man-made disasters. Dr. Vladimir Kuvshinov attracted the attention of potential partners that the ICDO is actively using the capacities of the International Monitoring and Coordination Centre to provide its member-states with up-to-date information concerning wild fires, floods, earthquakes and that the ICDO is ready to share such information with Kingdom of Thailand.

The officials expressed their commitment and willingness to develop further the relation between ICDO and Kingdom of Thailand.
